SlideshowReport

An electrocardiogram (ECG).

Description
Electrodes placed on the skin detect electrical impulses occurring in the heart, and an electrocardiogram visualizes them. The resultant waveform is a useful indicator of cardiac health. Note that the ventricular wave (QRS complex) is taller than the atrial wave (P wave). This is because the ventricles are larger than the atria and generate more electrical activity.
