A little bit. Relaxed eye would means relaxed eye muscles and some doctor did research about it and has proven that stress of muscles in the eye has bigger effect on eyesight than lens itself.

Intuitively it makes sense. Why not repeat the experiment with a longer duration?

Well. I don't think I can explain to you. But is 1kg (4.4 pounds) heavy to you? Of course not, well, try to hold it directly in front of you for an hour. That's how it feels to have it on the eye. It ain't problem for a while, but afterwards you're driven insane. Who could've thought that not using one eye, could make high-tea out of your brain?
