Can anyone explain or describe the gametophyte stage in angiosperm? Can we see it?

The most commonly seen free-living gametophyte stage of the angiosperms are the pollen that is produced and released.  The gametophyte stage is simply the haploid stage (chromosome number = 1N).  In angiosperms this stage is used exclusively for reproduction (as in mammals including humans), while in some other plants in may be the dominate (and often mobile) life stage.
