Are dominant alleles always the most common ones in a population? Explain?

Pretty much although not always. For example, if you have one allele for brown hair and one allele for blond hair, then you'll have brown hair because it's dominant.

Not necessarily; a dominant allele for a lethal disease would not be common in a population because it's deadly.  people with it would die.  thus, in such a case the recessive allele is most common.

however for neutral and beneficial traits the dominant one is almost always common.
