I bought a white shirt, he bought a blue shirt. Which rule of comma usage is the statement violating, and why?
 
  a) Comma splice and run-on sentences; because the two independent clauses can be separated by a comma only if accompanied by a coordinating conjunction
  b) Comma used to separate parts of a compound statement; because the sentence is not a compound sentence as the two clauses are interdependent
  c) Comma between subjects and verbs; because the comma should be after I and not shirt
  d) Comma used to set off items; because the comma can be used in this sense only when there are transitional words in a sentence, which is not the case here
