The gallbladder stores large quantities of bile, releasing it when fats reach the small intestine.

The answer is d) ... the gallbladder stores large quantities of bile, which is used to emulsify fats.

A and B can be eliminated because the gallbladder does not produce the bile, it only stores the bile that is produced from the liver.
