Children with neuromotor impairments do not present unique symptoms of language disorder. This does not mean that they are free of language difficulties. Their language problems, though, are not the direct result of the neuromotor disorders that interfere with posture and movement. Instead, these children are impaired communicators because of conditions that frequently coexist with neuromuscular disorders: intellectual disabilities, hearing impairment, visual impairment, and seizure disorders.
