What high paying jobs can you get with a Physics or a Geography degree? I am aiming to get into some of the top universities. Are the jobs interesting? How much do you get paid? Thanks!

I don't know what you can do with a geography degree (besides teach it), but I have friends with BA or BS in physics working for nuclear power plants, the patent office, Google, technology companies (GE, Sony, Apple, IBM, etc), NASA, universities, the government, teaching, computer gaming and graphics companies - and many of us went on to grad school in physics, astronomy, geology, biophysics, geophysics, astrophysics, bioinformatics, engineering, physical chemistry, med school, law school.  It's a very versatile degree.

A great career path in the field of Geography would be GIS or Geographic Information Systems. Its a technology based career field involving online mapping, in-depth spatial analysis, and a whole array of exciting opportunities. It is used by local governments, environmental agencies, real estate agencies, retail companies, and many many more fields.

Think of Google Earth, maps.live.net, and any other mapping application you see on the internet and chances are that GIS is the foundation of that system.

Good Luck!
