Can you show me how to solve these using and equation or inequality?

 Party Planning A party platter contains a variety of dried fruits. To
serve 16 people, 96 pieces of fruit are needed. How many pieces of
dried fruit are needed to serve 22 people?

A paper distributor is shipping poster tubes to an art gallery. The
distributor has previously shipped 560 tubes in 16 boxes. At this rate,
how many boxes would the distributor need to ship 112 poster tubes?

16 / 96 = 22 / x
16x = 22*96

x = 2112 / 16
x = 132

problem two:
560 /16 = 112 / x
560x = 16*112
x = 1792 / 560
x = 3.2

Q1.
96 pieces of fruit for 16 people.
Thus, 96/16 = 6 pieces of fruit per person.
22 people need 22x6=132 fruits.

Q2.
16 boxes for 560 tubes.
Thus, 16/560 box is needed per tube.
112 tubes need 112 x 16/560 = 3.2 boxes (which is 4 boxes as boxes can't be .2!)

if you need 96 pieces for 16 people, then for 1 person you need 96/16 pieces = 6 pieces. So you need 6 pieces per person. Hence when you have 22 people, you need 22*6 = 132 pieces.


If 560 tubes have fitted into 16 boxes Then in 1 box you have 560/16 = 35 tubes. Now how many sets of 35 tubes makes up 112, because for every 35 you'd need a box. You'll find three boxes can hold 105 tubes, and 4 boxes can hold 140. So 3 boxes isn't enough, Hence you need 4 boxes.

The requrired equation is y = 6x. x is the number of people attending party. y the number of fruits needed.
So as x = 22 the number of dry fruits needed is 132.

35x = y. x is the number of boxes. Y the number of tubes. So x = y/35
As y = 112, then x is computed to 3.2.
So it is confirmed that x >3.2 ie 4 boxes are needed
