How did Rousseau try to bridge the gap between obedience and freedom?
 
  A) By returning to the natural state where humans first existed and were joyous
  B) Rousseau could not bridge the gap because society had advanced too far.
  C) By a Social Contract in which all citizens participate in the determination of the general will and adhere to it
  D) Freedom is gained through total disobedience.
  E) Obedience is gained by bending the will of one to the will of all.
