A client who receives general or regional anesthesia in an ambulatory surgery center:
 
  1. Has to meet identified criteria in order to be discharged home
  2. Will remain in the phase I recovery area longer than a hospitalized client
  3. Is allowed to ambulate as soon as being admitted to the recovery area
  4. Is immediately given liberal amounts of fluid to promote the excretion of the an-esthesia
