Hi! 

I was wondering if, hypothetically, there was any way someone could manipulate the molt cycle of a lobster to make it appear to be more mature?  Would it be possible to inject a manufactured steroid similar to crustecdysone to speed the molt cycle?   Thank you in advance for your time!

So, in theory, cutting an eyestalk could decrease the amount of molt inhibiting hormone and increase the rate of maturation?

The sacks that secrete the molt inhibiting hormone is located in the eyestalks.  So, in theory, the removal would remove the sacks...not that maturation would be significantly increased.  I suppose remove a necessary hormone could just as easily kill them.  Im still looking for anything that would increase maturation and the speed of molting cycles like the addition of a synthetic steroid.
