What are the stigmas associated with a criminal record? Should former criminals face social stigma and/or legal disability? Why or why not? Is there a distinction between the way in which convicted felons and those convicted of misdemeanors and lesser offenses should be treated by society?

Address the various social disadvantages attached to having a criminal record, such as repression of civil rights, reduced access to housing, employment, voting rights, and other rights and privileges enjoyed by those without criminal backgrounds. Respondent will address whether students should face social stigma (and provide explanation of their rationale); respondent will discuss whether felons and misdemeanor offenders should be treated differently.
