Elevated CRP indicates inflammation, and if other indicators are present to indicate atherosclerosis, like elevated LDL and total cholesterol along with low HDL, the chances are increased that atherosclerosis has formed in some stage. The higher the CRP, the greater the inflammation. Elevated homocysteine could indicate a risk factor for atherosclerosis.
