Clomiphene causes the production of unfavorable mucus. Because it has antiestrogenic actions, clomiphene may force the production of scant and viscous cervical mucus.
Estrogen actually is given to create a favorable cervical mucous environment.
Progesterone and FSH would not contribute to an unfavorable environment.
