According to family systems theory a family genogram that reveals an extra-marital affair and an out-of-wedlock birth that were hushed up several generations back
 
  a. has no potential power over the client's current life.
  b. has a potentially profound effect on how the client manages and communicates his or her emotions.
  c. is unimportant because all that matters in the development of behavior patterns is how an individual's behaviors are reinforced.
  d. should never be included on a genogram because it violates a family's right to keep such incidences private.
