From my school days, I'm interested in research related to DNA. My dad told me  that you can do genetic engineering.
I'm doing my Bsc.Biotech (2nd year) right now.In my UG ,I'm reading Basic in Microbiology,Biochemistry,Cytology,Genetics,Embryology and etc. Will i get such wide knowledge ,if I choose Genetic engineering in PG.

What are merits and demerits in both Msc.Biotech and Msc.genetic engineering?

Plz help me which would be best in getting wide knowledge and right path to enter DNA research's!

Genetic engineering requires the knowledge of:

Microbiology,Biochemistry,Cytology,Genetics,Embryology

So it's best to focus on genetic engineering once you've completed all the prerequisite courses, otherwise you'll have a hard time conceptualizing what it is that is happening.

Make sense?

Msc.Biotech

It's very similar to genetic engineering Smiling Face with Open Mouth

As a Biotechnology graduate, you will take courses in biological sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, and biotechnology to explore the use of living organisms and to produce goods and services for practical and industrial purposes.

As a modern biotechnologist, you will learn new applications using new scientific tools, including recombinant DNA technology, genetic and protein engineering, cell fusion, gene cloning, and expression.

It's the right field for you barathvaj!
