What did the results of the 2009 study by Dall et al. on the economic value of professional nursing indicate?

  1. As nursing staffing levels increase, patient risk of nosocomial complications decreases.
  2. As nursing staffing levels increase, length of stay increases.
  3. Adding registered nurses to the acute care hospital workforce would not result in reduced mortality.
  4. As the numbers of nursing staff of any education level increase in an acute care hospital, the quality of care provided increases as well.
