A solution containing aspartic acid, glycine, threonine, leucine, and lysine is applied to a Dowex-50 cation exchange column at pH 3.0 . If the amino acids are eluted with an increasing pH gradient, in what order will they elute?

They will elute in increasing order of their pI values. If you calculate the pI using the values given in the manual, you will come up with this order:

Asp, Gly, Leu,Thr, Lys.
