A disadvantage of taking text notes before the lecture is:
 
  a. you'll repeat the same information that's in your lecture notes, costing you time
 b. you'll build background for the lecture
 c. you'll develop an organizational structure for the information, making it easier to organize the information in your lecture notes
 d. you'll increase your understanding of the material, making it easier to take notes during the lecture
