Indicate with true (T) or false (F) whether the following functions are polynomials.
 f(x) = x+2.
 f(x) = sqrt{2}.
 f(x) = sqrt{x}.
 f(x) = |x|.
 f(x) = 1/x
 f(x) = (x+1)^{200000}.
 f(x) = sqrt{1+x^2}.

additions, subtractions, multiplications and positive exponents? right? so i'm confused on why this is wrong

The wrong one is actually sqrt(2). It is a number, so it's a polynominal.

I thought a polynomial was an algebraic expression with two or more terms?

And yes, SQRT(2) is definitely not a polynomial.

Sorry I accidently messed up your post but re-edited it Face with Stuck-out Tongue

well, sqrt(2) is definietly a polynominal. A polynominal can have any number of terms. It can also be a single number, like sqrt(2)
