What character trait might be most important for a director to possess? How might your answer compare to other theatrical jobs (e.g., what traits seem most important for actors, designers, stage managers, etc.)?

What will be an ideal response?

The student could say that the most important job a director has is to unify a
vision of many minds and compare that notion to that of an actor, whose job is to create a
fully realized character that the audience identifies with, not someone who fits into a larger
scheme of things, but rather someone who is vivid enough, that the character can be
melded by the director into something that fits into a unified idea.
