What is the most basic reason that inductive reasoning can never give conclusions that are certain?
 
  A. Inductive reasoning can only give universal statements.
  B. Induction is only valid if existing knowledge is certain.
  C. Deduction can provide conclusions that are certain.
  D. One can never know for sure that the future will be like the past.
