Actual equipment is used to demonstrate the action. Demonstrations are the most effective
method for instructing culinary manipulative skills because they make use of the learner's visual
sense.

Strengths:
 Great visual impact
Instruction can be built step by step
Ensures that instruction is given in sequence
Difficult tasks may be shown in easy stages
Makes use of the natural inclination to imitate
Best if preceded by study assignment

Weaknesses:
 Suitable for relatively small groups
 Requires a lot of preparation
 Pace is often too fast
Learners often watch the demonstrator rather than the demonstration
Should be avoided unless adequate time has been allowed beforehand for
preparation and practice
