Why are genes and alleles related?

Alleles are located on genes in specific locations called loci.

What he said Upwards Arrow

Alleles are different forms of a gene. For example, different ALLELES, for a trait such as eye color, are brown, blue, and green. These alleles (different forms of a gene) contribute to the genotype (the genetic makeup) of the living thing. The phenotype (physical characteristics) of the living thing are determined by the organism's genotype. It is possible to have different genotypes and the same phenotype.
