Suppose you have a way to measure the amount of DNA in one cell during the cell cycle. You first measure the amount at the G1 phase. At what points in the rest of the cycle will you see a change in the amount of DNA per cell?

One way to measure the amount of DNA in the cell is to keep account of the number of DNA molecules at each point in the cell cycle. It would look like this for a human somatic cell: G1 (46); S (92); G2 (92); prophase (92); metaphase (92); anaphase (46 moving to each pole); telophase (46 each cell).
