For our biochemistry class this semester, we need to memorize the names and structures of the amino acids  Pouting Face. Does anyone have any funny/easy to remember mnemonics or acronyms to help with this?

Just memorize them. Eventually you get the hang of it Wink Face I remember doing this both in my Advanced biochemistry course and my 2nd year course. Horrible. The easy ones are those that don't have a charge, glycine, lysine, etc.

For the essential amino acids:

"PVT. TIM HALL always argues, never tires":
Phe
Val
Thr
Trp
Ile
Met
His
Arg
Lue
Lys

An amino acid is a what make up proteins! Proteins are made up of hundreds or thousands of linking amino acids. There are a total of 20 different amino acids.
