Number A divided by number B equals one-fourth.
A/B = 1/4
Cross multiply
B = 4A
Number B divided by number A equals two times number A.
B/A = 2A
Replace B with 4A (from the fist statement)

4A/A = 2A
Cancel A on the left
4 = 2A
2 = A
then
B = 4(2)
B = 8
:
What are the two numbers? A=2; B=8
