In one large high school there are a number of first year teachers. At the end of the school year, Mrs. Sonia Dalrimple, one of the first year teachers, is told by the principal that she is not being given a contract for the next year. This comes as complete surprise. Some of the other teachers encourage Mrs. Dalrimple to sue the school district for breach of contract. Based on legislation and court decisions involving teacher contracts, tenure, and related issues, analyze and evaluate Sonia's chances of success if she were to file a suit. (Learning Outcome 10.2)
