Both sides of grandfather's genes are dominant AABB and both sides of grandmother's genes are recessive aabb, and wife and husband are both are both hybrid AaBb.  If this couple give birth to total 100 children (49 AB, 3 Ab, 2 aB and 46 ab). How do you calculate the recombination frequency?
(1) =(3+2+46)/100
or (2) = (3+2)/100 ?

If both parents are hybrid: AaBb x AaBb

Then you should get a 9:3:3:1 ratio:

9: AB
3: Ab
3: aB
1: ab

Here we have a completely different ratio:

49/100 AB,
3/100 Ab,
2/100 aB
46/100 ab

Because it doesn't fit the ratio, they're not Mendelian (Mendelian are always unlinked), so these genes are likely found on the SAME chromosome.

You are how to calculate recombination frequency, use this formula:

(No. of recombinant progeny) / (total no. progeny) x 100%
