The number of offspring that would have the parental genotypes A and B would be 95. The 38% lets you know how often this occurs in a group of offspring. So if you know that your total amount of offspring is 250 you then multiply it by .38 to get your answer of 95 offspring. Basically this question lets you know that unlike the traditional punnett square where if you combine two heterozygous individuals (AB and AB) where the possibility of the offspring to be AB as well is 50%, the chance of that is actually lower (38%).
