Given his talent in poetry, Homer wrote the Illiad and the Odyssey. These were widely used as school texts in ancient Greek and Hellenistic cultures. His works showed kids how to read and write properly in Greek, his stories exposed children to Greek society, and his stories taught children how they should live a good life, courage, and about the dark ages.
