= 0x^-1
b) y = 4/5x^5 - 3x

Also, the answer to y = -1/x^5 is y^1 = 5/x^6?

No, it's wrong. See my steps:

how about -2/√x^ 1 1/2? Is that acceptable?

Nooooo, not allowed to write it like that.

Please watch this video pertaining to this:

because I did like this:
1) 4/√x
2) 4/ x^1/2
3) -2^-1/2
4) -2/√x^1 2/2 is what I got as I subtracted -1/2 and 1.

What happened to the x in step 3?

You should learn how to write math equations digitally:

It will make understanding what you're writing a lot easier for both of us

Sorry, will do that moving forward.

I forgot the x! How did I get the exponent wrong for the last step, if I did all of the steps correctly?

Sorry I thought I included everything, let me try again. I will watch out next time. Frowning Face
ALSO I wanted to write my steps digitally, but it wouldn't let me copy for some reason.
AFTER step 2) I did 4x^-1/2, then I subtracted -1/2 and basically applied the power rule, which gave me step 3) -2x^-1 1/2
and wrote the final answer as,
-2/ x^ 1 1/2
