A 2011 survey conducted for the Canadian Media Research Consortium found that 81 percent of those surveyed would refuse to pay for access if their favourite online news sites erected a pay wall. Rather, they would simply go to sites where they could get their news for free. What impact might this have on the quality of news that citizens are consuming?
