Glutamate is an excitatory neurotransmitter associated with learning and memory.

Glutamate's effect when it binds with protein receptors on the post synaptic membrane is to:

a.
Initiate movement of sodium ions out of the membrane

b.
Initiate movement of potassium ions into the membrane

c.
Initiate movement of sodium ions into the membrane

d.
Initiate movement of potassium ions out of the membrane

Calcium is vital for bone growth, but it's also an important part of neural transmission.

Calcium is required for the axon terminal to:

a.
The neurotransmitter to be released by endocytosis

b.
Reuptake the neurotransmitter via endocytosis

c.
Reuptake the neurotransmitter via exocytosis

d.
The neurotransmitter to be released by exocytosis

First question.

Choose option 3

Whenever an excitatory neurotransmitter released form presynaptic neuron and bind to post synaptic neuronal membrane it caused the opening of sodium channels in the post synaptic neuron to cause the influx of sodium ions. The influx of sodium ions results in the depolarisation of the membrane.

Second question:

Choose: Neurotransmitter to be released by exocytosis.
