In general, in which situation is the Bonferroni method of correction for multiple confidence intervals preferred over the Tukey method?

Only a subset of all pairwise comparisons is needed.

All pairwise comparisons are being evaluated.

The Bonferroni method is always preferred whenever it is possible to use it.

The Tukey method is not applicable.
