What would be the most reliable way to measure the mass of a star for which the distance is unknown?



apply the mass-temperature relation



measure its orbit around another star



measure its radius, then compute its volume and multiply by density to get the mass



compute its spectroscopic parallax, then apply the mass-luminosity relation
