We made 10^-2,10^-4 and 10^-6 bacterial dilutions from the same stock solutions plated them out on LB plates to grow. The best growth was on the 10^-6 dilution followed by 10^-4 and nothing on the 10^-2 one. Why is that? Does it have to do with competition for food..? Why would absolutely nothing grow from the 10^-2 dilution?
