The cell in stage 1 I think it's a germ cell, because it will generates 4 gametes after meiosis.
There are only 2 haploid chromosomes, a and b in different combinations.
In stage 8 we can see the 4 gametes resulting from meiosis.
And the last question I've answered, meiosis.
