1)What role do FAD and NAD+ play in glycolysis, Krebs cycle and the electron transport chain?

They carry electrons to the electron transport chain.

2)Discuss three major roles of the liver.

Blood detox, bile production (for digestion), etc. Full list below:

- Produce bile that enters the duodenum via bile duct
(digestive system)
- Synthesize Proteins. Most blood proteins (except for antibodies)
- Synthesis (clotting factors to aid in clotting process)
- Synthesizes cholesterol
- Regulation (maintain blood glucose level in body;metabolic function- glycogenesis, glycogenolysis, gluconeogenesis)
- Secretion of many substances important in maintaining the body's normal state
- Storage of important nutrients such as glycogen (glucose), vitamins, and minerals,
- Converts ammonia to urea
- Purification-clearance of waste products(filter blood)
- Detoxifying chemical agents and poisons
- Hormonal modification and inactivation
- Chemically modifies bilirubin to "conjugated," or water-solube, bilirubin that can be excreted into bile
- Nearly all drugs are modified or degraded in the liver
- Alcohol is primarily metabolized by the liver
