Why cant you use mammalian DNA polymerase for PCR?

How many different sites (i.e. chromosomal segments) in the entire human genome will be amplified if the PCR reaction works properly?

If your DNA fingerprinting reaction had worked, how many bands would you expect to see if you ran it on a gel?
