In the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster, curly wing is dominant to the wild?type straight wing phenotype, and is not sex?linked. A curly winged female is mated to a straight?winged male from a strain that is true breeding for straight wings. Half the offspring have straight wings, and half have curly wings. What was the most likely genotype of the original curly?wing female fly in the P generation?
