I have a degree in chemistry and I am looking for a job that could put this degree to use in relation to scuba diving.

A friend of mine who is a scuba instructor (and chem major) works for the government checking water quality. She goes around to different reservoirs and checks the PH in the water, levels of contaminants, that sort of thing.

In case this information is helpful:
They wanted a minimum PADI Divemaster rating for the job. Because my friend is a PADI Instructor (a step up from Divemaster) helped her get the job. There were lots of people who applied who were divers and chem majors. She was the only one with a pro-level certification.

It seems like a fun gig. Every day is different. She gets to fly in a helicopter, and they bought her a custom dry suit. Oh, they dive with full face masks, it's probably worth getting some experience with one of those if this type of job interests you.
