It is a fact that human erythrocytes do not have nuclei and mitochondria. How does this affect the metabolism of erythrocytes?

Erythrocytes are red blood cells.

yes they are blood cells
no they have no organelles at all
no they have no metabolic activity once matured
yes they have a long prosperous life span of 120 days before broken down into reusable parts

through the process of erythropoeisis
which is the formation of erythroblasts
which differentiate into normoblasts (where they loose their organelles[most])
which change into reticulocytes (where they loose their ribosomes)
who mature to erythrocytes for 120 days
