It's not a good answer.  Since DNA replication in bacteria is happening all the time, at any particular time, unless the poor thing is starving, there's going to be the original chromosome and a partly replicated "daughter" chromosome and a partly replicated "granddaughter" chromosome and... well you get the picture.  Your E.coli is probably going to have more than one copy of its plasmids, too.

Bonk your teacher with a clue bat.
