2 acetyl CoA may --->Acetocactyl CoA (4c)
              (CH3C=OCH2C=O-CoA)
Under the influence of the enzyme HMG-CoA synthase, a third molecule of Acetyl CoA is added to form 3-Hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl CoA which is a (6c) unit otherwise known as HMG CoA
   Acetocactyl CoA (4c) Rightwards Arrow HMG CoA

i don't really understand what my professor is trying to say, is it like ,when there is HMG CoA 1 more of Acetyl CoA is added and thats how HMG-CoA is form?


on another slide he has

Production of 3-Hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl CoA (HMG CoA)

3 Acetocactyl CoA (4c) Rightwards Arrow 2 HMG CoA (6C)
                    (HMG-CoA synthase required)

 I am confuse with both of these, i don't understand what he is trying to say and there's noting on this in the text book so I can read and understand it
