The answer is 0.999 but I don't know why. can someone explain all the steps? Mostly how to find the concentrations to use in the formula pH = pKa + log(/[HB]), assuming that is how you solve it.

[H+] = [A-] = 10^-3 M
[HA] = 0.100 - 10^-3 =0.099 M

Ka = ( 10^-3)^2 / 0.099 = 1.0 x 10^-5
pKa = 4.999
