Coat colour in collies shows incomplete dominance.The gene for black coat(B) shows equal dominance with the gene for white coat(b).The heterozygous condition is called mixed coat.
1.State the genotypes of a:
Black collie
White collie

2.State the genotypes and phenotypes of the F1 offspring that would result from crossing a black and a white collie

3.State the genotype and phenotype of the progeny of a cross between 2 mixed coated collies

Black collie
White collie

Answer 1 ) Genotype of Black collie = BB for coat color which is Black
                  Genotype of White collie = bb for coat color only which is white.

Question 2 ) State the genotypes and phenotypes of the F1 offspring that would result from crossing a black and a white collie.

Answer 2 ) The genotype  of F1 is Bb ( heterozygous for coat color, all of them  )

                  The phenotype of F1 is a mixed coated collie ( All of Them )

Question 3 ) State the genotype and phenotype of the progeny of a cross between 2 mixed coated collies.

Answer 3 ) 25percent will be black collies with genotype BB ( pure or homozygous )
                  25Percent will be white collies with genotype bb  (pure or homozygous)  And
                   50 percent will be mixed collies with genotype Bb ( Hybrid or heterozygous)
