I just need to know how to solve this kind of equation.
SAMPLE:
8v-3v-3=22
I'm usually very good a this, but I'm confused.
My teacher is rude, and will give me both morning and break detention if I don't get it right, so please give me some specific detail. Not too much, like I'm asking equation of Pie....
Just some help please.
Thanks you!
Hmmm...
I just need some help here, it's simple 7th Grade Algebra.

8v - 3v - 3 = 22
5v - 3 = 22
5v - 3 + 3 = 22 + 3
5v = 25
5v/5 = 25/5
v = 5

actually your example only has 1 variable 'v'

8v - 3v = v(8 - 3) = 5v

5v - 3 = 22
5v - 3 + 3 = 22 + 3
5v = 25
5v / 5 = 25 / 5
v = 5

You will have to group the like terms in the equation, basically, simplify it first.
Like-terms are the terms that can be added to one another in that equation, so in our case, the like terms of 8v-3v-3=22 are 8v & -3v.
You add the coefficients of the terms (8 & -3)
8 + (-3) = 5
Your equation will look like this:
5v - 3 = 22
Now you need to isolate the variable, to do that, we need to get the variable on one side of the equation, and the numbers on the other:
We need to get rid of the -3 so what we do is add a 3
5v - 3 + 3 = 22 + 3
5v = 25
We want 'v' not 5v so we divide both sides by 5

5v/5 = 25/5

v = 5

Follow these steps for other equations:
1. Simplify by adding like terms (terms that have the same variable)
2. Isolate the variable
