Every time a T occurs in your sequence, substitute it for an A.
Every time an A occurs, substitute it for a T.
Every time a C occurs, substitute it for a G, and vice versa.

Write down the opposite base pair. A to T. C to G. But when being transcripted the letter T is now a U.

for example: AGCTCTA = UCGAGAU

Break them into groups of threes.

Then look at a codon chart.

Bad question.  See my answer here to learn why.

The answer your teacher wants is not the correct answer.  To do this problem, you need the directionality of the sequence specified (i.e. label one end with 5'), and to know whether this is the "transcribed strand" or the "nontranscribed strand."

Hit your teacher with a clue bat.  If this question came from a textbook, hit the textbook author(s) with a clue bat.  Or give me their email address so I can give them a piece of my mind for writing a cr-ppy textbook.
